As he gazes down upon people
playing
on his cool ferrous body, does
the metal giant
of Gas Works Park
feel
like
the last dinosaur
did, when he was displaced
by smaller agile creatures
on Earth?
Archaic, unwieldy,
irrelevant.

But beautiful.
